What is Making Forward Strides?

Making Forward Strides is Stockhands Horses for Healing’s premier annual fundraiser, bringing together supporters, community partners, volunteers, and program families for an evening of celebration and impact. The event features dinner, auctions, entertainment, and opportunities to learn more about the life-changing work happening at the barn every day. Proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and sponsorships directly help Stockhands provide veterans, first responders, children, and adults navigating mental, physical, and emotional challenges with access to equine-assisted therapeutic programs that help build confidence, connection, independence, and well-being. Funds raised also help Stockhands care for our equine partners, purchase adaptive equipment, and ensure programs remain accessible to those who need them most.

Stockhands is a 501c(3) Non profit organization that has served Central Ohio since 2014, providing equine assisted therapeutic activities and programs for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities as well as Veterans, First Responders and those struggling with mental health and recovery. We strive to be a place of belonging for children and adults living with mental, physical, and emotional challenges arising from a wide range of diagnoses, including PTSD, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
